Exciting Hand Crafted Modern Ales

Our Story

Specialising in 'exciting' hand crafted ales, owned by brewing brothers Seamus & Rory Clifford on their family farm, nestled in the heart of the Waveney Valley near Bungay.

Whilst running Down to Earth, our established tree surgery business, inspired by the onset of the evolving craft beer scene, the opportunity arose to fulfill our lifelong passion for making (and drinking) good beer. This came in the way of sourcing brewery equipment and the availability of a dilapidated grain store on the family farm which we restored and turned into the brewery. With a lot of hard graft we finally became operational in 2017.

The influence of our Dad breeding and raising award winning Bulls, sharing a love of music & trees, gave rise to the name 'Bull Of The Woods' with a "nod" to an Album by West Coast 1960's Psychedelic band called the 13th Floor Elevators!

Inca Gold - 4.4% ABV

A smooth malty quaffable golden ale with subtle citrus hops.

Twisted Wheel - 4.5% ABV

A session IPA with sweet orange marmalade hoppiness and a quick flash of pink grapefruit heralds an easy dry bitter finish.

Twisted Wheel was a nightclub in Manchester which was one of the first Northern Soul, rhythm & Blues Mod venues from 1963 to 1971

Rock Steady - 3.8% ABV

(A slow style of ska more conducive to dancing in the hot Jamaican climate)

A malty amber session ale with a biscuity caramel taste & fruity floral notes.

This beer is made using a blend of five local malts including Maris Otter from Norfolk (Fuggles, Summit, UK Cascade)

Vapour Trail - 4.3% ABV

(Is a hats off the band Ride and their classic debut album 'Nowhere')

A pale ale that has the character of citrus fruits giving it a clean fresh taste and an assertive bitter finish.

(UK Cascade, US Jarrylo, & German Mandarina Bavaria)
